Painting New York with a shade of Coach

It’s 2018, for fashion labels that mean that it’s not just about the clothes and accessories. Now, it’s about whether your idea goes beyond just the four walls of a store and homes of the glamorous, but also resonates with the people. Coach understood this well and how, evident with the kickstart of their mural project. What do you do when you have a store in the important streets and an ad on every billboard? For Coach, it means to paint the walls too.

The signature logo has now been taken to the streets of the big apple. Its adaptation and representation by New York graffiti artists have been used for Coach new initiative – an outdoor mural project.

Moreover, there are a total of 13 murals which have been created across the five boroughs, highlighting each artist’s personal style and aesthetic. The interpretations resonate heavily with younger audiences. The coach print in pop colors, heavy lines, and quirky styles quietly addresses the growing nature of luxury meeting the youth.

If you think this is the first time fashion has merged with street art. Well, you are WRONG! Recently, Gucci has taken this approach and painted New York city with motifs of the GucciGhost. Sonia Rykiel is another artist, who transformed facade of their store into a synergetic mural that resembled a bookshelf.

Even though other brands and designers have entered the world of art, every designer has a different work ethic and that can be clearly seen in this Mural Project by Coach.

Coach definitely screams out its love for New York by providing its people a platform for art. The Coach Code is not only a project, but an amalgamation of art styles, fashion language, and spatial design.
